SWITCH2 Loop earplugs

Designed to be a piece of earwear, destigmatising hearing protection, and encouraging user to wear switch over extended period of time. accompanying the user through their day may they be in a conversation, loud festival, or focus time.

By detechnifying the design: hiding splitline away from the view when the device is in-ear, conscious choice of CMF and streamlined silhouette, up to the pillowed surface hallmarking the Right and Left indicator. Switch2 is designed to fit as a hearable accessory.

Some semantic tension play between a soft inviting form encasing the sharp blade.

Playing with a spectrum of mockups from laser cut paper, FDM 3D printing, and Nylon MJF 3d printing.

Sharing the learnings with design students online, about the 3 types of mockups that I use during the design process :

1️⃣ scale 1:1 paper print to check the overall proportion

2️⃣ 3D print for volume, surfaces and ergonomic check

3️⃣ mocked-up prototype that can partially have final technical parts to work on the engineering and freeze the design.

PHILIPS 3000Series

Gen Z & Millennials are really eager to set up their new way to fix their garment, breaking up with traditional irons. They are looking for a solution that fits into their routine. The 3000 Series, provides a convenient and compact design with a foldable handle, and triangular steamplate to reach the intricate areas of the garments.

The 3000Series, can be folded and the watertank can be removed to enable an ultra compact and convenient archetype for the traveling lifestyle of new generations. It's easy to store and easy to travel with.

I believe that there is no silly mockups. This Proto hacked together a bikelight lodged inside a quick 3Dprint helped me have a quick idea of the light direction and handling experience.

The Brosaden is exploring the simplicity and purity of the form without compromising on the elegance and comfort.

Using the frosted transparency and thickness variation to create color gradient, the Brosaden heroes and support the brush head and subtle gradient bristles.

Desk Fan revisited

LeVentilo is a simple fan with a simple function. Soft and approachable, the fanblades reminds more of paddles pushing through water than sharp blades. They are supported by a stem, making the link between the different elements by discretely supporting the inner core and casing.

Simple fine mesh to keep the blades as the "hero" element of this fan. The humility, transparency and simplicity of the metal perforated sheet to keep the stage to what is behind.

The design challenge with this product is in working with visible components such as blades and purely functional safety shielding elements. While the traditional approach is to hide the blades behind decorative grid, LeVentilo takes up the challenge to not hide, but celebrate.

These little pods don't spy. They care.

Technology and security camera are not chained anymore with the technical appearance of its beginning. They dont need to prove they have technology inside through a technical appearance, and the category codes are ready to be broken.

Using fabric and soft silhouettes, the security pods convey care and home fit.

Softness and elegance of olive green and timeless dark blue for simple and ergonomic kitchen peeler. It somehow reminds me of the cosiness of home. Complimenting the home green plants, and wood.

Here is one of my weekend’s hobbies. In between the design contest, I like to play around with form, detailing, material, challenge existing products in their usability. Just a few hours to get my brain working on a topic. Today’s topic : The calculator!

Playful dryer for a compact & easy handling. This lightweight and compact dryer uses Bright touch of enriched colour, and texture contrast. It is a basic yet sophisticated hairdryer.

Clean, aspirational design places the technology squarely on show rather than trying to hide it. Beautifying technology.

I had the chance to be core team member into establishing the Philips Design language, as well as the Beauty category design language.

At the Beauty category level, I was design lead in designing the full range update for hair dryers.

An extension of the Visapure range and design, this has a slim, delicately curved handle, highlighted by a glossy rim and delicate, feminine contours on the brush attachment.

I had the chance of working in a Lean Startup set up. I had the role of Chef Design Officer of our start up, and the responsibility of the UX, UI, creating paper and digital prototypes, organisation of co-creations with users and interview scripts, and supporting on the online testing, buildup and tracking.

The project was handed over to the development team after we validated the New Value Proposition.

A smooth design to allow curling and straightening, the tapered surface along the plate provides comfort and safety while gliding the hair.
